On 13 May 2026, EU-funded initiatives will come together for the event “Supporting EPBD implementation: practical solutions developed by EU-funded initiatives”, co-organised with DG ENER Unit B3.
The event will take place at the Charlemagne Building, European Commission, Brussels, with online participation also available.
As part of the programme, Session 2 will focus on a key question: how can evidence, observatories and policy-support tools help Member States move from EPBD requirements to concrete implementation?
Supporting Member States with better evidence
The implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires reliable data, clear monitoring tools and practical support for national authorities. Session 2 will explore how EU-funded initiatives can contribute to this process by providing knowledge, methods and solutions that support decision-making.
The discussion will highlight the role of building stock data, observatories, and policy-support frameworks in helping Member States track progress, identify gaps and better understand the needs of their building sectors.
Session 2 will also address how evidence can be translated into action. Beyond collecting data, the challenge is to make information usable for policy design, implementation and evaluation.
By bringing together EU-funded initiatives, stakeholders and national voices, this session will provide space to discuss practical approaches that can support the delivery of EPBD objectives across Europe.
