How can Member States turn EPBD ambitions into concrete results on the ground?
On 13 May 2026, the European Commission and the LIFE Programme will host the hybrid event “Supporting EPBD implementation: Practical solutions developed by EU-funded initiatives”, bringing together the European Commission, EU-funded initiatives and practitioners working across Member States.
As part of the event, Session 1 – “The EPBD implementation system: Policy, market uptake, digitalisation and finance” will focus on the key elements needed to make EPBD implementation work in practice.
The implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive requires more than policy ambition. It depends on a strong and coordinated system that connects policy frameworks, market uptake, digitalisation and finance.
Through high-level keynote speeches and a panel discussion, Session 1 will explore how these different dimensions must work together to support effective implementation across Member States.
From data to renovation delivery
The session will also highlight the role of key tools and mechanisms that can support better decision-making and more effective renovation strategies.
Topics will include the use of building-stock data, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) to improve building performance and support the delivery of renovations across Europe.
📅 Date: 13 May 2026
📍 Format: Brussels & online
This session is an opportunity to better understand the practical solutions being developed by EU-funded initiatives and to discuss how they can support Member States in delivering the EPBD effectively.
